Digital Services

TODD NAVIGATION'S world-class range of Digital Services are designed to make every  voyage easier, enabling essential navigational data to be sent direct to a vessel anywhere in the world, at the click of a button.

The International Maritime Organization (IMO) approved amendments to the International Convention for the Safety of Life at Sea (SOLAS) mandating the fitting of ECDIS in June 2009.  These amendments mean that  all large passenger, tanker and cargo ships will be obliged to fit ECDIS on a rolling timetable which began in July 2012.

Electronic navigation refers to the use of an ECDIS loaded with ENCs used either for primary navigation or for enhanced situational awareness.  An ECDIS system is made up of a database of ENCs, together with the hardware and software needed to display the chart data as well as the ship’s course, speed and position.  Truly intelligent navigation.

At TODD NAVIGATION, we can bridge the gap between regulation and the practical aspects of ECDIS. Our experts are on hand to guide you through the process and help you make the right choices – from ECDIS hardware and software through to ECDIS training and after-sales support.

We can also offer assistance to vessels switching from paper publications to Admiralty Digital Publications and offer training and advice on a one to one basis.

Thinking of converting your hard copy books from IMO, ICS/ISF, OCIMF, onboard to e-books? We work closely with Witherby Digital to provide you with e-books from the Seamanship Library
